A New Give Away - Enter to Win

Last Thursday, my daughters and I took my sister to the largest fabric store she's ever seen.  We drove down to Portland, made a short stop at Ikea to get exactly what we wanted, then headed to Fabric Depot.  We love going there.  They are huge, have all the fabrics you could want, and always some kind of a sale on them.
I limited myself, which is good, and bought a few things for bags, aprons and some quilting projects I already have going.  The crochet thread is for some more doilies for Naomi.

Don't you love this fabric?  I think I'm going to do hot pads from this one.

When I'm at this store, I alway make sure I look up and get inspiration from the quilts that are hanging around the store.  I love looking at the different  quilts and how fabrics are used in them.

We also went to our wholesalers where the girls stocked up on interfacing, sewing machine needles (don't we always need them?) and I got a lot of batting for me and others, and also thread for my quilting.  I love that  King Tut thread.  It runs so smoothly in my machine (they don't all do so well).

I found such nice patterns and books I had to pick up.

I also picked up this pattern that I thought I'd give away.  Just leave a comment to enter.  You could let me know what you enjoy about fabric stores or quilt shops.

I will announce the winner, using the random generator, on Wednesday.

  1. You are fortunate to live where you can shop for stuff in person...I like being able to read the back of patterns, touch fabrics and generally pet stuff :) I do have one fabric only store nearby, but it is odd lot stuff so not sold by designer/manufacturer. It is so overwhelming when I want to coordinate for a quilt top. IT would be easier to follow a line for that perfect coordination...ah well. I shouldn't complain..I at least have that...use to have to travel an hour and a half to get the nearest fabrics...

  3. I simply love that Mary Engelbreit fabric. That has been my favorite for a long time now. You don't need to enter me for the drawing not because the pattern isn't nice. It's just I wouldn't know what do with it. I just had to leave the comment about that fabric! Too cute!!

  5. Thank you for the lovely pattern giveaway. Please enter me into the drawing. I prefer quilt / fabric shops because I like to be touch and feel the fabrics. Seeing sample quilts and looking at the full width of fabric is far more satisfying than a little box online.

  6. My most favorite thing about a quilt shop is looking at all the samples that are displayed. It makes me want to make every one of them.
