Around the World Blue Jeans Quilt

This was a rather fun quilt to put together.  The pattern and shirt in it made it more so.  Here's links to the progress here and here.

Eloise earned money to buy this umbrella and now she got to use it in  the rain.

Meredith's quilt

This is a lovely quilt made with batiks. I did an overall leaf pattern on it.

Juliet is getting indoctrinated into quilting. Right now she just is a watcher. But I know soon she will want to do more.

Iris appliqué

I completed almost one corner of the flower appliqué on this quilt that I had received from someone. Now that I'm home, it may be put away for a while.

Eloise Is helping her grandpa put new strings on his guitar. She loves it when he plays his guitar. She dances and sings while he plays.

Praise ye the Lord, Sing unto the Lord a new song.... Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. Psalm. 149.1,3

Relaxation

My husband and I are spending a few days on the Oregon coast.
Pics are - my husbands favorite foods, a puzzle I'm doing, the beach at our resort and an appliqué project I brought along. It was given to me because the owner never got around to doing it. It's all printed and I just play a matching game.

More on Mug Rugs

The house mug rug is now finished.

And now it's on to a new one.  A birdhouse.  This has a little more to it.  I could wish for a die cutter now.

Eloise(my 2 yr old granddaughter) saw it and knew exactly what to do with it.  Put it under the presser foot on the sewing machine.  It's a good thing she had already taken the bobbin out.  One day she will do a great job of sewing.

I'm in the midst of getting it all fused on.  I will figure out the design for a butterfly to add to it.

House Mug Rug

It seems to me a mug rug is a way to practice quilted pictures on a small scale.  I've always been fascinated by house quilts and want to make a larger one, but this is good practice.
I started by making a drawing.

I fused all my cut piece and here they are one the cloud background.

I then added the batting and backing and zig zagged everything into place.

I'm thinking next time I wouldn't do it that way.  I don't like how the back looks.

I will do some quilting on it and then bind it.  Maybe that will get done today.

Mug Rugs

Mug rugs are the newest quilting idea I've seen on the web.  And so I thought I'd give them a try.  I'm not sure if I'd really use them, but my girls are starting a coffee bar in our shop, so I thought that would be a good place to start.

You can go to the tutorial here for these mug rugs.  They were some that I pinned that I had to try.

I even quilted steam coming out of the coffee cups.

I figure mug rugs are small enough but also large enough to do a little scene on them.  I have ideas for my next ones.

ABC Quilt

This is the only kit I've ever bought to make a quilt from, but it was so cute I couldn't pass it up.  I started it back in April.     It didn't take me long to get the borders on all the squares.  And I believe that was the last time I showed it on this blog.  I didn't know who I was going to give it to, so I never got it finished.
Now I know where it's going and here's the finished product.

This is the American Jane ABC  quilt kit.

I used flannel for the backing.  I always use flannel on the back of my baby quilts, but I normally quilt them more tightly.  This one I did a loose stipple because I wanted to get some quilting in the letter blocks, and so the quilt puckered up some.  Hmmm.  I've never had that happen before.  I thinks the flannel is the reason it did that.

But I don't think the baby will mind.  He will be able to learn his alphabet from this quilt.

Sheri's Quilt

Sheri is a very regular customer of mine.  I am very thankful for those kind of quilters.

I did twirls and feathers.  This is one of the most fun overalls that I do.

Blue Jeans Quilt - Progress

Sometimes I wish I could come up with more exciting titles for my posts.  These seem like a repeat of old ones.  But it states exactly what the post is about.  The progress on this quilt.  Here is my first post of it.

Now here is the progress. It seems to me to be a quilt that will be homey and cozy.

And this is the rough draft pattern I'm following as I sew it.  I just have to look over at the computer as I put it together.

A Pretty Nice Finish

The clothing quilts are done.  It didn't take nearly as long to do all three as I had thought. I was able to get an assembly line going and it worked pretty well.

These were mostly short pants and a couple of shirts.

I did overall quilting on each one, but different styles.

Cutting Up Clothes Again

This time it's a jeans quilt with one bright red shirt in it. I've done several quilts,(jeans quilt,
T-shirt quilt, and Shirt quilt) already for Bonnie and she came back to me with a box of jeans for another quilt. I recently pinned this quilt which is my inspiration for the one I'm doing now.

You can see I'm using pockets in it.

I'll be sewing it up soon, so you'll have to come back and take a peak.
