Carol's T-Shirt Quilt

This is a crazy square T-shirt quilt.  I stippled it.  That's just what I do with T-shirt quilts.

Patty's Quilt

I think this is a kimono.

I tried to do cherry blossoms to match the print of the panel.

Row by Row Palm Trees

This is one of those row by row's that I collected last summer.  It is from Monica's Quilt and Bead Creations in Palm Desert, Ca.  It's a pretty easy one to do with not a lot of little pieces.  T his is the start of it....

I guess that you'll have to wait and see the rest of it.  Hopefully, it won't be too long til I finish it.

Baby Boy Layette

This was a cute combination that I pinned.  The challenge I came up with was that the instructions were in French.  I used to knit and crochet German patterns.  Of course, I did know some German.
But French?  I had some in high school, and I've travelled in France several times, so the language is not totally unfamiliar.   And when one has the basics of understanding how to knit it makes the language a little easier.

I did print a French-English dictionary of knitting terms.  That really helped also.  The instructions for this outfit was also translated to English by someone, but they didn't make much sense, so they weren't something I could really use.

I did do the cuff of the pants differently than the instructions.  The pattern had you add them afterwards.  I started with knitting them first so they were attached to the body of the romper from the start.  I think this will be a cute outfit for my grandson.

A Bouquet of Flowers

Pretty colors.  I did the flowers separate from the borders making them very loopy.

Dear Jane

Years ago I started the Dear Jane quilt as a very low priority item and did 2 squares.  One was done in 2009 and the other in 2010.  Now I just did a third square.  You can see it is low priority.  Or has been anyways.  With my Love Entwined almost finished after 3 years, I'm thinking about another large project and maybe this will be it.
So here is A-3.

The first blocks I did came to an unfinished size of about 4 1/4" each so that is what I made this one.
Reading up on the quilt, I found they should be 5" unfinished.  So I think I will do these all over again and also think more about the color arrangement I want.  I actually am planning on buying the book for the patterns and there are good websites to help with the sewing of them.  This could be fun.  It may take years a bit at a time, but I don't mind.  I may not even finish it, but it will be there everytime I want to do a square.  We'll see how it goes.

My First Grandson

May I introduce you to Asher David.  He was born May 5 and was 5 lbs 13 oz.

We knew beforehand that he would need surgery when he was born and we are prepared for that.  He is doing well in coming to the correct levels to prepare for that surgery.  His hernia is up in his chest and is crowding his lungs and heart to where they aren't growing properly.  We are thankful for the experienced team of doctors and nurses that work with him everyday.

Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O Lord, thou preservest man and beast.
How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

                                                               Psalm 36:5-8

                                                 ______________________

Here are some little baby items I've been knitting. Some are for him and some for my future grandchildren.
If you click on each statement about the item, you will go to the Ravelry link.

Asher is wearing those I knitted for him.

These are diaper covers that he or some other grandchildren can wear this summer when they don't need much on. It looks better than a diaper.

Angela's Quilt

It's a rainbow quilt.

Since the fabric had quite a few leaves in it, that's what I quilted on the quilt.

Coming Close to the End

That is for Love Entwined.  I finished the last outside borders.  Now there are just 4 corners to do and then sew the final borders on.
Here it is laying on my patio.

I've been working on these borders since last October.  And I've been working on them pretty consistently.  I don't know what I'll do when the  quilt is finished.
If you look closely, you can see I missed a small stem.  I'll have to go back and do that one.

It has been fun and I am really enjoying the look of it.  My problem is when someone asks who I'm making it for.  I have no idea.  I am going to make a guest room in the next few months, so maybe I'll decorate the bed with this quilt.

Allison's Quilt

This cute little baby just needed a quilt.
I made a simple one that is just feminine and sweet.

And it looks nice in the baby's room.

I sewed up 2 sets of strips which I cut into new strips and alternated them when putting them together.  Nothing could be simpler.

I  think Allison will like it.

Little Birdies in the Water

This is a Row by Row Experience from last summer.  This row is from a quilt shop in Palm Springs.
It rains in that area about 3 days a year.  We came the day after a big rain.

So most of their water does not come from the clouds in the sky,

But from water fountains

and hoses.
This row is all fusable applique and some hand embroidery for the rain drops and water.
