Many Little Prizes

Over the last couple of months I have made many prizes for my daughters.  It seems the 4-8 year olds love them.  And I can't seem to knit enough of them.  So I will just show pics and if you want to know more, you can go to my ravelry site for yarns and any other explanations that I have.

How is that for a show?  All of these were crocheted.  That tends to work best for little animals.

June's Popcorn Sweater

Here is a sweater I just finished knitting for June.  She likes popcorn, or her mom does anyways.

We couldn't find a pattern, so I took a Sirdar pattern that I already had and changed it a little and added popcorns.  Sirdar patterns are very consistent size wise and always work well.  You can get some patterns and the size is really off, the neck is too large or too small.  Often times the sleeve openings are too small.  But Sirdar works very well as a base.  I did change a few things on it, but it did make for a nice sweater.

This has plenty of growing room, so it should still fit in the fall.

I used a Knitpicks cotton.  It is a cream that has a lovely hint of pink.  It's a very pretty color.

Gideon's Sweater

This is a knit for my grandson Gideon  It was pretty fun, considering the cables and design.

It is knit with a knitpicks wool.  His mom is going to have to remember how to wash it so it doesn't shrink on her.  It is a    tweed with nice colorings.

It is a Sirdar pattern, which means the fit is good.  I have knitted many of their patterns and they can be counted on size wise.

Melanie's Sweater

 Meet Melanie.
She is wearing a favorite sweater that I've knitted many times.   This is the first time for a granddaughter.

This is a Debbie Bliss pattern and even comes with a little sheep that fits nicely in the pocket.

This is knit with a cotton knitpicks yarn.  They are my favorite.

Manor House Quilt Border #1

I am slowly working on my house quilt.  The center is done and posted here.
These are pinwheel squares for the first border.  There are many to be made.  I have them all cut out and as I have time, I sew a few together.  Now that spring is here and I'm outside a lot, this may take a while.

Sweaters for Boys

This is Elisha when he was much younger weaaring a cute new sweater that I knitted him.  Cables are really fun to knit.  This yarn was a very nice color that I found at Hobby Lobby.  The Red Heart yarns are getting better than they used to be.  I usually don't like buying them.

This is a pattern that I've done before that I really like.  It's a chunky yarn, also from Hobby Lobby, and very soft.  I do like using this for certain things. It is a very quick knit.
