African Quilt

This is a quilt that I put together for a customer.  She was having it made for her daughter.  Her daughter, who has a father that gives safaris in Kenya, has collected t-shirts and scarves from that country.  They are beautiful scarves. Here's the quilt.

I decided to do a log cabin format.  I left fringe on the scarves where it worked.
The stripes were mostly on the edges of the scarf, so this took careful cutting.

This is the backside of the quilt. It is also a large log cabin block.

Teri's Quilt

This is a sweet little quilt made out of onesies.

A stipple is all this needed.

5 Little Ducks in a Row

This is my newest quiet book page.
These ducks like the water.

And they also like to fly in the sky.

I copied a quiet book page that was just a picture and no other link. It was pretty simple and fun.

Natalie's Quilt

Natalie likes little birdies.  This one took me a while, but it is finished.
Big sisters get to hold it up.

This has lots of pinwheels with the birds sitting on top.  Some have flowers in their mouths.

I copied a picture of another quilt that I liked.
That is what this quilt is.  There was some juggling of the offset pinwheels.

Vicki's Quilt

This is a masculine quilt all about ships.

She said I could do some custom work, so I made anchors in the large plain squares.
The rest is loops and straight line quilting.

Pom-Pom Hats

I knit some hats for my older granddaughters lately that have pom-poms.  I don't make good pom-poms myself and heard about these furry pom-poms, so I started searching.  I found small ones for the ends of the ties at Hobby Lobby but the large ones?  I had to go online for those.
I am also using up yarn from my large stash.  For this hat I had to put two colors together to make sure I had enough.

This hat is a small in the adult sizes.  I had to make it a little smaller and she still has plenty of growing room.

With this hat, there is no growing room.  It is made from a chenille yarn that I had left from a rug that I had made.  I had enough of this to make 2 hats.

Knitting for Babies

Here are a few pictures of the things I've knitted showing the babies wearing them.  These were all past posts but the grandbabies have grown into some of these outfits. And grown out of  them also.

The cousins enjoying each other. Maybe?

You are looking at the blanket on this one.

This is not a grandchild, but he is the cousin of one of them. I made this sweater originally for Asher to go with the above outfit, but it the sweater and hat were too small for him from the start.  So Jason got to have it.

These are a couple of sweaters that I made for Natalie's older sisters a few years ago.
Now she gets the chance to wear them.

You can go to my Ravelry page to see all of these projects and find out more details on them.

Tea and Scones

This is a quilt I'm making from a picture I pinned.  The pin does not go to an original source, so this is totally a copy that I'm doing.
This is the beginning of the applique center.  I pieced peachy and white blocks together to keep it a light background.

My granddaughters saw it before any applique was done on it and wanted me to make it for them.  I told them it wasn't even pretty yet.  They get excited about any quilt or knitting that I do.

I am doing needleturn applique, but using freezer paper to iron down the edges.  It makes a smooth applique look.  This center flower will have petals on top, so I'm not appliqueing the valleys, only the hills.

I am really liking the look so far.  I still have to pick out another color, I'm not sure what.

Cheryl's Quilt

This is a small round quilt.  I'm not sure how she's using it.  I couldn't pin it onto my machine, so I pinned it to the backing and batting.  And then quilted it.

More New Knit Dolls

It seems that once you make a knit doll, more people commission ones and they are all varieties.
I use a Jean Greenhowe pattern as my base and go from there to make changes.

I was commissioned to make 2 football players for a baby. One for each of the parents favorite teams.

They took a little work to figure out.  Especially for the numbers and the helmets.  But they're not too bad.

I even have some back detail.

This is an evil man.  I used Darth Vador as my example.  This little boy received an astronaut that I made him, but he needs a bad man to fight.  So here he is.

Does he look evil?
