Dorothy's Quilt

Dorothy has a daughter that is getting married next month and she made this quilt for the couple.

The colors are more vibrant that what shows here. I've been using my son's camera.  Now that he had a baby, he took his camera back.  I think it's time for me to buy one.

Asher's Quilt Gets a Start

My grandson likes moose, bears and woodland animals.  I don't really know if he knows that yet.  He really likes the giraffe in his bed.  We just won't tell him that a giraffe belongs in the jungle.
So wit hthe help of his mom picking out fabrics, I am making him a woodland quilt.
I started by strip piecing.  Then I realized I didn't like the order of the squares.  The large moosehead was right under the bear and that didn't look good.  So I ripped and basically am single piecing them now.  It's working fine.

My sister Bev  just came to visit.  Here is Asher in her arms.

In fact, my sons each got a picture of their baby in their arms.  There are my 3 new grandchildren that I received in the past 3 months.

 Chris and Asher

Jordan and June

Nathaniel and Natalie

What a blessed Grandmother I am.

Patty's Quilt

I like the neutral coloring of this quilt.  I did a large stipple all over it.

3 Months - 3 New Grandchildren

I've been knitting baby clothes to await a coming new grandchild.  This is a romper for a newborn boy.  It's great for the summer months.

It was a very easy romper to knit.

And then I also knitted this jumper.

I really like the pattern knitted into it.

And the soft pink of the yarn.

The dress is what the new grandbaby gets.
Here are big sisters with new sister, Natalie Patricia.

This is my 3rd new grandbaby in 3 months.  How exciting can that be?

This Time I'm Really Doing Dear Jane

Over the past couple of years I started Dear Jane but didn't do very well.  Now I bought the book and am getting a good start on it.
This is square A1 done three times.  The last one is the current one.  I now have regular sizing and am paper piecing.  The first one I hand pieced.  It looks terrible.  I don't remember how I did the second one, but it also doesn't look that good.   The third time is a charm.  Doesn't it look much better than the others?

It's the same way with the second square A2

And the third square A3.  Although on the second try I didn't do the diagonal corners.  I should have done that.  Will I make it again?  I don't know.

Here are all the good ones.  They are all the same size and a good start.  I am using a photo of another Dear Jane in which I like the coloring.  That saves me some work of figuring out what colors to use.
I'm using white over the cream that I started with.  I like the sharper look that it gives.

A Desert Oasis

This is a 2015 Row by Row Experience. The row is from Monica's Quilt Shop in Palm Desert, Ca.
It was a pretty easy one to do. Just fusible appliqué and not too many small pieces.

I used my own fabrics. I like using up scraps that I have and there are a lot of them.

Cheryl's Quilts

Cheryl had me quilt 2 quilts for her.  This is a vintage Grandmother's Flower garden.  It is very pretty.

I just went around the rows of hexagons to hold everything in place.

This is a quilt of pictures of her favorite cat.
