Betty's Quilts

Betty had 3 quilts that she gave me to quilt for her.  This first one is a memory quilt.  It looks like it is shirts.

These two are the same.

Fireworks Quilt

Over a year ago I went into a quilt shop in Wichita, Kansas and saw this quilt hanging on the wall.  I really liked it and bought the pattern. Looking at the pattern, I would never have bought it because those colors didn't stand out to me, but this one with the blues and greens I really liked.

So now I've just started mine.

I cut out some of the pieces and started the first block.  I'm glad I didn't cut them all, because I discovered that there is a lot of wasted fabric and I have a hard time with that.  Most of this quilt is supposed to be the flip and sew method.  The corner half square triangles was too much fabric for me to waste, so I just cut them a little larger and did the diagonal cut for the half square triangles and then sewed them.
I also saw all the flying geese in this quilt and decided to do them the no-waste method.  That in itself saved me almost a yard of fabric.
You can see here all the little bundles I made for each of the sixteen squares.  Each square does not take too long to put together.

A pic with the pattern showing.

I can't wait to see how my version looks when all done.  I bought white fabric, but the rest of the fabrics are all scraps that I already had laying around.

A Couple of Baby Boy Things

I knitted a couple of rompers for grandsons.  They were from a picture, not a pattern.  I drew it out size wise on butcher paper and knitted it accordingly. I also use other patterns to help me get what I want.

I knitted them with a sport weight cotton yarn.

This is a little diaper cover that I knitted.  For these hot summer months I thought it would be great over a diaper. Makes it a little dressier.

 This is a newborn size.

It is a little large for this newborn.  I think I need to add more buttons for a choice of sizes.

Angie's Quilt

Angie brought me a lot of  T-shirts and a picture.  This is the quilt I sewed up for her at her request.
I took the shirt fabric and used it for the small hearts in the center. She also had a print that she wanted me to use.

I texted her pictures throughout the whole design process.  There was some movement of squares so that was a bit of a challenge as far as sizing when that happened.

She was very happy with it when she received it.

Naomi's Doily

I am crocheting a collection of doilies for Naomi.  They are taking quite a while but this is one I finished the beginning of this year.  I just haven't posted it.  It is the 17th doily for her.

It took a while to block and then I couldn't remember what pattern it was and still don't know.

But it is a very pretty one.

Meet Me At the Manor

I decided it was time to start a new quilt.  I was looking through old, old magazines and found this quilt that I liked.  I am partial to house quilts.  I was able to find the pattern online and download the PDF so that makes it easy for me.  I threw the magazine away and I can't find it online today for you.  But I do know it's there.

I'm starting with the houses.  This is the first one.  I'm trying to keep to the color scheme in the picture as that is what I like, but I am using all scraps on this quilt.  Why buy more fabric when I already have so much?

And here are all the houses cut out and organized in there own bags. I am really ready to sew now.
