Arrows

Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
                                                                          Ps. 127. 3-5

This baby knows that she is one of many arrows.

I copied a quilt that I found through pinterest.  This quilt  has totally different colors, though.  I paper pieced each half of the arrows.
That was a challenge for me, because I'm not a paper piecer naturally, but for this quilt I thought it would work better.  And I'm sure it did.

There she is...

For Unto Us a Child is Born

He is born to come and redeem us from all of our sins.  He was born and died to forgive us everything.
I thought it would be fun to knit a nativity set.  Jean Greenhowe has a good set and so I used her patterns.

I thought they really needed him.

And then the shepherds came along with their sheep.

The Wisemen came later.  So keep your eye out for them.

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Judy's Quilt

Judy did one of the nicest, most accurate jobs of piecing that I've seen.  I always admire those who piece well because I really have to work at it.  Her points are points.
She wanted the quilt stippled.  That was my part.

Elephants and a Bunny

I am making more prizes.  I bought a patter from Little Cotton Rabbits and am having lots of fun with it.  I think I will keep making these animals.  They are used as prizes for sewing class and school students.  The school students are in band and are thrilled that I gave the animals instruments.
This is the elephant for sewing class.  Maybe I should have had her do some hand sewing.  I'll keep that in mind for the future.

 She even has a tail.

 What instrument is she playing?

 Yes, it's a clarinet.

 I added detail to it.

This bunny is playing a piccolo.  It was supposed to be a flute, but her arms weren't long enough.

She has a tail also.

Long, Long Scarf

My daughter saw a scarf that she wanted me to knit.  It was one for sale on Etsy so there was no pattern.  I searched some for something similar and found a pattern. a free one also, that looked the same.  So here I went knitting.  First I used a yarn that I ordered online that was not soft.  So off to the store I went to find something.  I found 2 yarns that I put together and came up with this nice soft, soft scarf.
This picture gives you the correct look of the softness and the color.  The others had different lighting and weren't quite so nice.

My daughter wanted large, square wooden buttons and that's what she got.  They were pretty pricey.
This scarf is 8' long and wraps around about 3 times.

I'm not sure I'm a good wrapper, but I think she  can handle it.
Ravelry link.  You can find out more about the yarns and link to the pattern also.

Cheryl's Quilt

I did three of these small quilts for Cheryl.  She likes swirls so they all had variations of swirls quilted allover them.

The quilts were all the same, so I have just a picture of one.

Juliet's Sweater

Juliet is the second daughter in her family.  Also the second grandchild that I have.  Because she is second she gets a lot of hand-me-downs.  And so I haven't knitted for her or Clara like I have for Eloise.  I know these girls will always be wearing my sweaters because Eloise keeps growing.
So I decided to make Julie her own special sweater.

I used a Knitpicks Cotlin that I had way too much of for another project. The pattern is a sweater that I saw on Pinterest and pinned it to keep it in mind of a good sweater to knit.

Julie likes polka dots and I think she likes beads also. Beads are kind of like polka dots, aren't they?
This sweater also has some embroidery on it to add a special touch.  It isn't hard.

Princess Penelope

This is a doll I made for a little friend that had a birthday and  that loves teal and has blonde hair.  This is another Jean Greenhowe doll.  I really enjoy them.

She has nice curls in her hair.

And of course she has her tiera

She also can't go without her teddy bear.
