Eloise's New Smocked Dress

This is one I'm very happy with.  I started this dress in April. Of the few smocking projects I've done, this is by far the best.  Improvement should come with practice and so I will keep practicing. It is very enjoyable to do. A nice sit down project.

The pattern for the dress is Kimberly's Sundress from Classic Smocking by Cheryl Lohmann.

The Smocking Pattern was a variation I did from a free pattern called Symphony of Roses.

We let her walk in her mother's flower garden.

If you start singing a song, she starts twirling and dancing.  It always works.

  1. I love the smocking! The fabric is darling, the dress is too and I think the ruffly straps are precious, but the little girl wearing it is the best part! I think I will have to commission a granddaughter so you can make me one of those dresses also.
