Clara's Birthday Sweater

I like to make something for each of my grandchildren for their birthday.  Sometimes I sew, sometimes I knit.  This one is a sweater I knit for Clara when she turned 3 in June.  It took me a while to get pictures, part of the reason being that I was disappointed in the sizing of the sweater.  It is way too big for her.   But she does enjoy it.

The sweater should be much shorter and the sleeves are supposed to be 3/4 length sleeves.  One thing for sure, she will grow into it.  She does wear it sometimes now as she seems to like it.

I knitted it with a Drops Baby Merino yarn which is one I really like.  It is fingering weight.  I also like patterns that are lacey and this sweater seemed to fit the bill.

The back does come up in the back which is a little bit different because of the way the stitches work.
I think Clara may enjoy this sweater for many years to come.
