It's my birthday and my family gave me a wonderful party last evening. Of course I blew out candles.
And then we had a pinata. This is the first time I have ever tried to hit one. I got a few candies to come out.
Then some of my children had tries at it.
The grandchildren weren't quite ready to give it a try. They just watched.
My oldest son finally broke it all open and the candy flew out.
A friend of ours came over and helped my oldest daughter cook dinner. This pic is the appetizer. Crab cakes with a remoulade sauce. It was so delicious as was the rest of the dinner.
Children are a heritage from the Lord,
offspring a reward from him.
Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are children born in one’s youth.
Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame
when they contend with their opponents in court.

Happy birthday! What a good reason for a party! We are very thankful to the Lord for giving us such a good mother and grandmother!
