Iris Applique Quilt

Sometimes women will give me projects that they know they'll never get around to doing.  And so they figure that I'll get it done.  And I usually do.  This one was an Iris applique  quilt that is a kit.  The fabric is all printed on and I just had to cut and sew.  Here's a link to one of my beginning days of it in December.
During football season I would work on it Sunday afternoons during the game, and I figured I had better keep it up even after football season ended so that the  quilt would get done. It's been my Sunday afternoon project for a while now.
And the applique is completed.

If you look close, you can see the quilting lines drawn on the quilt.  I will use the swirls and feathers, but probably do some close quilting around the applique so it all stands out more.

It's garden time again.  We teach Eloise more than just sewing and cooking.  She is also learning to garden.  She will be a very accomplished young woman in a few years.  Now she is a little girl and enjoying it very much.

  3. I made did this quilt also. I found two unopened paragon kits at an estate sale for $4.00 each back in the 70's. I often think of doing the second one but bunching all that fabric in my hand to do the applique...well I don't think I could do it again. another method, for another day.
