This is a new challenge for me. Juliet is going to get a bishop dress. I'm using a Children's Corner pattern and following a Youtube video from
SewNSo. This is a very helpful video and I'm going step by step. After sewing the shoulder seams and running the whole thing through the pleater I am now smocking. I still don't have my cables bumping each other. I'll have to work on that.
I bought a lawn print. Lawn prints are lighter than your quilters cotton and this print is also very sweet. The gap in there is my shoulder seam, but you can see when I smock, it comes together.
Wow what an undertaking. Years ago I took a smocking class and made a baby bonnet... and that was lots of work. I can't wait to see it finished. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing. I'm a seamstress from way back, but have never tried smocking. It looks very consistent and beautiful!
