Lord Lancelot

Lady Letitia of Dumpling Manor is out for a walk today.  Who is that coming up behind her?  Why, it's her husband Lord Lancelot.

 He's out walking with his dog, Macintosh.

 They meet up and have a nice little chat.  Lady Letitia looks concerned.  I think I know how to make better smiles now.  Lord Lancelot doesn't seem to have a care in the world.

These dolls are some of the very large colletction of Jean Greenhowe designs.  They are intricate but very easy to knit.

Another Finish - Fruity Tablerunner

Here's this project in the working on stage.  It is now finished and I will sell it on Etsy and in my store.  Is it a spring or fall one?  I used softer colors, except for the red, which makes me think spring, but the fruits are more late summer and fall.  Maybe it could be both?

A Future Wedding

My son Christopher is engaged to a wonderful, godly young woman, Sarah. We are very happy for them.   They will be married towards the end of June.

Here they are getting prayed for as they announce to the church their engagement.  They will need lots of prayers.

 They also agree with these truths and signed the board.  I know they are a little hard to read, but take the time to read them.  It's worth it.  I am very thankful for the Word of God in their lives.

Sarah is enjoying reading to her future niece, Eloise.

And of course, there's a quilt on the way.  The design process is happening.  You'll see more on the way.

Ellen's Quilt

Ellen is a woman, probably in her 90's, that has finished cross-stitching this quilt and brought it in for me to quilt.

She has a sheet for the backing and flannel for the batting, just like people used to do it.  I quilted her quilt on the blue dots that came on the quilt kit she had.

More Not Quite So Recent Knitting

Coming home from an outing one day last week, I found these two girls in my yard and knew I'd better move and get pics of these sweaters I had knitted earlier this year.  Sometimes I think about getting pictures, but it takes more effort to actually get them.  It was a beautiful day and Eloise and Kaylee were right there, so I grabbed the moment.

My granddaughter Eloise is wearing this first little cardigan with a lace like edging.  It is knitted from the Knit Picks yarn, Comfy Sport cotton yarn and the pattern is a Sirdar one.

She loved dancing on the steps that day.  It was a beautiful spring-like day.

Kaylee is wearing a sweater from the same yarn and also a Sirdar pattern.

 She is also my foot massager.  Her brother has  been training her.

Recent Knitting

Charlotte's posing in the sweater that I knitted in Maui.  I finished it the day before we came home.  Then I just had to block it and put buttons on it. It is one that I shipped to a customer.

 I tried it on her because I wanted to see the fit of it.  It seemed big and heavy to me.  It looked better than I thought it would.  It gave me some ease of mind in shipping it out.

Before we left for Maui, I knitted this sweater for a gift for a new baby.  It was blocking while we were gone, and now I have the buttons on it.  You'll have to wait for the baby to grow into it to see pics of him in this sweater.

This is from a book Chic Knits for Stylish Babies.   I've done it before and really liked it, so I thought it would make a nice gift.  It's knitted in a washable wool and has a nice hood.

Knitting and Maui sunsets

When in my room or at the pool I was knitting. I'm knitting a toddler smocked sweater using a Debbie Bliss pattern that I've used quite a bit in the past.

 A close-up of the smocking.  I'm using an acrylic yarn on this sweater as the person I'm knitting for wanted this yarn liking the color more than the type of yarn.  It is heavier than the cotton I normally use.  It's amazing how the feel can be so different.

 More beach pictures.  My husband and I with our chairs hiking to our sandy spot on Makena Beach.  It's the only beach we really go to.  We like it so much.

Hawaiian Beach Project

I'm at the beach and have my sewing with me.

 I'm using fabrics I already had in my stash.

 I'm using a pattern that was given to me by a woman who's mother had made.  She gave me lots of Hawaiian patterns.

 I did change the pattern to fit the size of the fabric I was using.

The flower is the hibiscus, one of my favorites.

We go to Makena Beach, or Big Beach as it is also known.

It is on Maui.

Today was a great dolphin day.

You can see some young people were swimming out to them.

And there are whales in the back.

This is late afternoon lighting after the hour long rain.

Hawaii rain is warm so we were able to easily brave through it under our canopies.
