Mornings at the Pool

My husband and I like to spend our mornings at the pool.  The air is fresh and the area is rather quiet at that time.

I work on my applique for my Heart's Desire quilt there.

Eloise comes to the pool also sometimes. 

She's enjoying her new toy.

She can also float on her back.

Here she is with her Mom.

Children are a heritage from the Lord.

Louise, my daughter-in-law made the knife carrier in the foreground for Nathaniel's cooking ease.

This is the first thing she's sewn since she was a teen.  She did a great job.

 

A fish taco.  I know you can't see the fish because of all the cabbage.  He uses great sauces in the taco also.

And Eloise.  Louise also made her sun hat.  She's going to be a regular seamstress.

 I finished all the stems of the third block of the Heart's Desire quilt.  This made the 6 hour plane ride go quite quickly, probably because I had to concentrate.

Does She Like It?

Eloise is checking out the pinafore  I'm making her.  It's a Debbie Bliss pattern. It's knitted from the cottons that I like so well.  Very soft.

 It looks like she must like it. It's going to her mouth with a smile.

 Here it is all blocked.  It looks pretty wide.  It's too big for her now, but when it seems her size I'll have to take another look and maybe add an elastic thread to it to cinch it up some.

 It has a nice picot edge to the hem.

Keeping Up on the Knitting

I've done a few sweaters lately, smaller sizes now.  Madelyn made a good model for these.  She's Eloise's friend and is a little bigger than her, so she fits 6 month sweaters better.

The first one is made with leftover stash yarn (acrylic) but I wanted to use it up.  I love the eyelet design and ribbon in this sweater.

This pattern is from the 70's or 80's, a Peter Pan pattern.  I have done several from this book and really like them.  This is one of my favorites. I do take my knitting with me a lot of places and now have lost the book.  So I have to decide whether to spend themoney on another.  They are available on Ebay.  But I have so many good knitting books.  Maybe I should just move one.

 I used a soft cotton blend on this one.

 As you can see this one is a little large, so it's a large 6 months.

Madelyn's big sister Emma tried on a hat that I knitted.

It was one supposed to fit a baby but it runs quite large.  It is very cute on a 3 year old though.
