Back to the Farm

It's been a while since I've posted about my farm quilt.
That is because I've done very little on it.  And what I have done is little.
I actually made the tractor and trailer.  The person on the tractor doesn't have hair or a hat yet.  Should that be me.  I drove tractor for the haying at 10 years old and got ousted a couple of years later by my younger brother.  Threadwork is coming also.

Apples on the trees and even a basket and ladder.

My dad is bringing the cow to milk from the pasture on the other side of the driveway.  Or maybe it's a cow that got out and we all had to get out there to put her back in.

You can see the corn crib and tractor shed behind the barn.  That is real rough right now.  I haven't fused most of this down yet.  Just want to be sure of my layout.
Don't pay attention to the garden.  It's not really done at all yet.

Here Are Those Sweeties

And they are wearing new sweaters I knitted for them.
Juliet has a new smile she keeps showing us.

I bought a new Sirdar book.  I had knitted everything in the books of theirs that I already had.  And I really like their patterns.

This sweater has ruffles down the front.  I knit a 1-2 yr and 2-3 year size wise.

I probably could have made them both the same size, only making Eloise's longer. But I knew she'll keep growing, so it'll fit her better later on.

They are knitted in Knitpicks Comfy Sport, which is a cotton blend, very soft.

 Aren't they the sweetest girls?

More Red and White

I'm getting close to having all I need. They have been quite a challenge for me.
This block is a Debbie Mumm block.  All instructions are here.

This one has a pic, but no information.  I just copied it.

This is a block from Ode to the Thirties.

A Sweater for Louise

Louise is my first daughter-in-law.  She's the mother of those cute children that I keep showing.
Here is the sweater I knitted for her.

This is knitted with a KnitPicks washable wool.  It is very soft.

Notice the nice cable on the back.  Very decorative.

The pattern is called Hooray Cardigan.  My ravelry link is here.

The Quilt of Darlene's Friend

This one is beautiful.  The squares are from the 30's I believe.  Darlene has done some repair work on them and sashed and bordered them.  I'm loving old quilts more and more.

I did feathers in the sashings and the borders.  I did wavies in the squares just to hold them on.

Clouds in the Sky, A Fence in the Yard

My newest square for taking to my quilt guild picnic in June. House blocks it is.
I had an inspiration block, but I can't seem to find it now.

And a tulip that is blooming.

A Hint of Spring

You can see the touch of green on the trees.  The weather the last few days has been wonderful.  We've been able to sit outside and enjoy.

This is another block I pinned. I don't know the name and there was also no tutorial.  The one below is called Star-Crossover.  I got the pic from here.
