Crown Royal Quilt

A customer came to me with lots of little bags. Crown Royal Whiskey Bags.  He wanted a quilt.  I had never seen any quilts made with these bags until he came.  Now I've seen quite a few on Pinterest.  They seem like something that is done.  So here's the quilt I made for him.

He had quite the selection of bags, different sizes and colors.  It was a challenge to come up with a plan to use all of them.

  1. Very nice! How was the fabric to work with?

  2. Wow, this is interesting. In the past (late 1800s, early 1900s), women made quilts (or quilt backs) with tobacco bags about the same size. The plain muslin bags were home dyed and then sewn together.

  3. I have seen them before and have always been fascinated by them. We use them in church for our collections (and have in the last two churches I was at). Its funny as I know no one who drinks it! Thanks for the TGIFF linkup.
