Granddaughters Sweaters
I do like knitting sweaters for my grandchildren. Sometimes the mom's send me pictures of what they want. There are patterns with some. Some I have to improvise. This one had a pattern. Mom liked one that was on pinterest that was variant from the pattern. The pattern has a collar and 4 buttons, but she likes the one without the collar. It is very cute.
On this sweater I used a pattern, mainly for sizing and technique (the armholes). Instead of the pattern that is used in the sweater I simplified it and used all garter stitch. It also turned out very cute.
I used knitpicks cotton blends on both of these sweaters. I love the feel and lay of their cotton yarns. The price is also right.

Asher's Quiet Book
I've been making this book for a long time along with another one. A long time is over a year. Quiet books have lots of little things that you are cutting or figuring out. But I think they are well worth it in the end.
Asher turned 2 at the beginning of the month. I think that is a good age to have a quiet book. Here it is.
I was given the old fashioned fabric by my sister and I really like it. The inside cover is one use for it.
The animals all come out of the bushes and the owl is hidden behind a door in the tree. I connected all the animals so they wouldn't get lost.
The cars move along the rope. The truck is Asher's dad's truck.
Zippers are great fun also.
I made four seasons of leaves, flowers and snow for the tree.
Asher can learn to read and count numbers with this fun pepperoni pizza.
He is getting ready for the beach here. The bucket keeps all his castle parts.
Boys like caterpillers. And fish are always fun.
The back cover. Some nice farm fabric that I had.
I made the book using rings so that I could always add to it if I want.

Sock Time
Many moons ago, I knitted this pair of socks. I used a variegated thread on a lacey pattern. Of course, the lace pattern never really showed up.
I wore these socks like slippers and this is what finally happened.
So I decided to knit more. I love knitting lace. This time I decided to use solid colors.
This is the first pair I knitted. It is called Sock it to Me.
It is a pretty simple lace pattern. I used yarn from knitpicks called Palette.
This is my current slipper wear.
Then I decided to go a little more difficult. I loved the look of this pattern. It is called Lingerie.
It does look old fashioned. My daughter in law liked these socks, so I gave them to her.
These are the ones I just finished. They are called Esther. It is one in the round lace pattern.

My Quilt Progress
This is a quilt I started in January. It's not very large but it's a low priority quilt. It has applique and piecing. The applique is nice for those weekends my husband and I go away or just sitting around listening to him read to me. It has been slow and has a few problems.
It is a copy of Emma's Courtyard by Jo Morton with some changes. The applique is quite different.
My center squares ended up being a little different sized than what I had originally planned. The outer border then didn't turn out quite the right size as I started it before I realized that I would have to cut down the center squares. So I will cut some off of each end if it. It should work.
This is another applique border that is just getting started. I had to make sure how the others would fit before I started it, but we were going away so I needed some applique to work on.
This was our view when we went away. Isn't it beautiful?

2 Little Baby Dresses
I do like knitting baby dresses. These were for 2 of my granddaughters and a friend. This one was a sweet little pattern. I thought the first one was really too short for a dress, so I made another that was longer. It really worked.
Here is little cuties wearing the longer one.
'And here's a jumper I knitted. No cute pic of the granddaughter in this one. So sad.
But it was cute on her.
