Ripe Wheat Doily

I went on a vacation last month and decided to take thread to crochet a doily.  This pattern is from an old magazine that I own, but it is also free online.  I really like it.

I forgot how much fun it is to crochet doilies.  You get into a swing wrapping yarn around your hook for those double treble stitches.  I like that this pattern was something different than pineapples, although I do like pineapples.  I thnk those picots are the toughest things to do.

You can get the pattern by first going to my Ravelry link.

  1. Oh, that doily is so pretty and the wheat is so prominent. It reminds me well of my great grandmother who made hundreds of similar creations. She taught me to crochet, but I have been practical to a fault in my handwork. Your beautiful work makes me want to branch out!

  3. As a Wheatshocker fan in Kansas, that is pretty great. I may have to take the design and make it into a quilt block.
