Here Come the Turtles

I made this quilt for a part Hawaiian baby.  He's actually 1/2 Hawaiian, 1/4 New Zealand, 1/4 English and All American.  Quite a heritage for this baby.

His grandma gave me the border fabric, so that was my start.  Mom liked the idea of turtles so that was my continuation.
This quilt is all raw edge applique.  I did no sewing until quilting time except for the flange and border.

I got ideas from the internet and turtle quilts and drawings.

I think one day Marcus may see a real turtle in Hawaii.

  1. This is beautiful and I'm sure Marcus will love it.

  2. This is fantastic, Elaine. :) Looking forward to seeing what your fresh start is going to be.

  3. We Love it Elaine!!! Thank you very much :)
