Birthday Time

Eloise turned 2 yesterday.  I think she had more understanding of birthdays than my children did when they turned 2.  She enjoyed every moment.  She took her time opening presents because she had to enjoy each one for a while after she opened them.
Some were very practical.  Mom gave her a broom to let her help sweep.  Of course, she thought mom should use her broom, while she uses her mom's broom.

This girl is going to know that she is to help around the house.  Her Dad gave her a pink tool box and a few tools.  She already knew what each tool was.

The flashlight was her favorite all evening long.

Her 3 seamstress aunts went together and got her a sewing machine.  It had to have a bobbin in it, because bobbins are important to her.  She is a girl that loves to sew (or think she is sewing.)  This will be one of those long term projects.  Last night she learned to put the presser foot up and down.

My gift isn't quite so practical as the others, but still is a learning tool for her.

It's a quiet book with lots of fun pages.

Even Juliet is learning about birthdays.

Some gifts are just totally soft and fun. No practicality to them at all.

And one must have candles for a birthday.

The book. These are ideas from other book that I've been pinning over time.  You can go here to see my Pinterest board on quiet books.  These pages come from several sources.

On the page with the barn, she has a template for it and the animals.

Psalm 118:24 - "This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."

Are you making and selling those quiet books by any chance? I think Lily would love one! Because, you know, she is so... quiet. (haha! right!)
