Love Entwined Part 10

This was an easy section.  Four squares.  I also added a new fabric which is in the leaves.  It combines the turquoise and the green.  I keep finding new fabrics to add.

The last borders took so long, it was nice to have something quick.

And here it is all put together so far.

More Little Knits and Crochet

Maybe I'm starting an unusual sort of farm with all the little animals that I have made.  I do have to keep up on the prizes that children love.
These are 2 little mice that I've knitted before.

They are very small. About 3-4" tall.

This is Sammy the Seal.  He is larger.

He was a real hit for the girl that got him for a prize.

And this little hedgehog.  I downsized him from the original in the pattern by using fingering and DK yarn.

I also made these little deer.
They are not knitted, or crocheted but made of felt.  They were very simple to do.  I copied one I had seen.
This person has a lot of cute felt animals and clouds, etc.

Benjamin Bakewell

Benjamin Bakewell is a baker in the village of Dumpling.  He is the last of the dolls in that little English Village.  You can search through several old posts for the other dolls. Or check out my Ravelry pages.

He carries a delicious array of baked goods.  Meat pies, savoury turnovers, sausage rolls, hot cross buns, cob loaves, Sally Lunn, etc. They are very English.

He has a French bakers cap.

This is a Sally Lunn.  It has cherries on top.

Eloise is rearranging.  She has quite an imagination and everything is a story for her. It is so much fun to listen to her as she is being different characters.

This is a vintage quilt that I quilted for Carol.  The top is completely hand pieced.

I did an overall with loops on it.

3 Little Hats

I don't crochet often.  I don't really like it. It makes my hand hurt.  But sometimes you see something (on pinterest) and you just have to make it, even if it means going through the torture of crocheting (I much prefer knitting).
I saw these hats that are made by a Russian lady.  They are full of flowers and so cute.  I did find English instructions for some of them.  And this is an opportunity to show my granddaughters in them.
The first is Eloise.  The instructions for her hat were translated by an Aussie into English.  I did the wrong thing by using worsted weight instead of fingering weights.  So I ripped out and started a second time to bring it down to the right size.

I searched the web to find flower and leaf instructions to copy a picture of the Russian lady's hat.

And here is my Ravelry link

Juliet is wearing the second of my hats.  This was done in fingering weight yarn and there is also a free pattern for this hat.  I do believe this hat is my favorite of the ones I crocheted.  I like the softness of it.

You can get the free pattern from Craftsy here.
She even has instructions for her flowers.

Clara is wearing the last of the hats I crocheted. I copied the look from one of the other hats with no pattern.  I used the pattern from the first hat with some changes.  The flowers were easy to figure out using the pattern from the little flowers on the last hat.

She is not yet 2 and won't stand still for a picture.  In fact, she'd try to get too close.  But she did want to get her picture taken.  Quite the challenge.

Little Hawaiian Tabletopper

This is a small quilt that I had in the planning quite a while back.  I wasn't really happy with it.  I decided to take it on our winter outing as some handwork, so I took it out and looked and looked at it.  I changed the flowers and made them smaller than what I had originally planned. And here it is.

I have been keeping it on my church pew in my entry.

Tulips on Gingham

That is the name of the project, although mine isn't on gingham.  It does have a nice effect though.
The print is an RJR fabric, Lovely and the check is Tiding of Great Joy by Quilting Treasures.

I've had this magazine for a while. It's a few years old.  In fact, I bought this fabric for the project about a year ago.

I'm finding the other fabrics from scraps in my stash.  I hope I don't have to go out and purchase more.  Where the flowers are pink, I'm using purple and where they are purple, I'm using pink.
This is the center flower. I am doing freezer paper needleturn applique on this quilt.

I have all the stems cut.  It is lots of brown bias.

Now I'm using my nifty little tool to turn all those strips onto stems.
You'll have to keep watching for updates.

Benjamin's Cowboy Quilt

We are going to make a cowboy of him, whether he likes it or not.  He does have several other siblings that can help him in that way.  Here's the quilt I made for him.

I pin quilts on pinterest and go through and get ideas from them.  This is my original design from those ideas.

I also looked online for drawings that I could easily use for appliques.  I think it turned out quite well.
Benjamin is enjoying his quilt.

A New Sweater for Eloise

Eloise is growing and being the oldest of her sisters, she needs a new sweater.  So here it is.

This is a Drops Pattern.  Those patterns are always free and they have a lot of nice ones.

I like doing things that aren't the same all the way through. It keeps one from being bored. This is a honey comb pattern.

I used a Knit Picks yarn.  A washable wool.  I like those for children.  It makes it easier for mom.

 Eloise is singing here.
