I have the top completed for my friend's baby quilt.Another friend embroidered the name and date on the quilt for me. I used to do it my own method without an embroidery machine. It wasn't nearly as neat, but all the moms and children that receive my quilts do like the name on them. The children drag them around for years. It's their quilt.
In our store, our animal basket is getting pretty low. These animals are so lonely.

So I went to work and gave birth to these friends to join the others.

Now they aren't so lonely anymore.

This is an afghan that I finally completed after 2 years. It's made from Caron Simply Soft which is great for this purpose - so nice and soft. I don't use that yarn for much else. I do have a ravelry page you can go to if you are a part of ravelry. My children are enjoying this blanket right now.I've started the binding on Grace's quilt. This is the easy part. I will take the handsewing one side a day. That makes it so it's not so overwhelming to me.

Grace's quilt

Here's Grace's quilt on the floor after washing getting blocked. I think she's going to like it. The pattern is a variation of a quilt by Kathy Slater that was published in Karen McTavish's book Whitework Quilting. I really enjoyed quilting it, but need a lot more practice. I showed it to the women at Bayside Quilting and got some tips for the next one.
I was so excited, I am starting a new one, only much smaller. I want to practice diagonals, do new fills, and get my heirloom feathers better.

Some flowers I crocheted. They make me think spring is coming. It has been pretty warm here, and some daffodils are blooming. We aren't getting the snow the East and England have gotten.

Another sweater for a baby girl. I'm trying two colors throughout. I want to do more with colors.

Halfway finished

I'm now at the center of this quilt. The diagonals are good practice for me. I do have squiggles. The girl that's getting this quilt is not a quilter, so she probably won't notice. I am really enjoying quilting this and have plans to work designs on several crib size quilts to practice different things like diagonals, cross hatch and also to get better at going back on the same lines I already did. Mostly I need to slow down. It is very fun.

The cutting is accomplished

I spent most of my time this weekend cutting. I have one larger nick which will be in a stippled area and a couple of tiny ones. None in the trapunto itself. So time for loading onto the machine.
