Maple Leaf Tablerunner

I was given a hutch by a friend who was replacing it in their house.  My daughters placed it in our entry and decorated it for fall.  All it needed now was a runner to go on it to soften up the look.
Looking through my many tablerunner pins,  I found this pin that I used for my inspiration.  Now she pieced her leaves and tells how she does it, but I decided to make a template and fuse them as one piece to my background fabric.

I zig-zagged around the edges of the leaves and couched a piece of brown yarn for the stems.

I think my girls did a nice job of decorating.

For quilting, I did swirls, pebbles, Mctavishing, a few echoed leaves, and also echoed the paisley  pattern of the fabric.

As you can see, I enjoyed taking pictures of this.

And a couple of pictures of my entryway.

  3. The table runner is perfect for the season. The quilting really gives the leaves a wonderful sense of wind swept motion. Your girls did a beautiful job decorating. That hutch is just right for the hall entrance.
    Have a great day.

  6. What a beautiful table runner! And I love the quilting you have done on it. I'm going to have to look at those photos closely. I'm trying to learn free motion quilting, and it's a challenge. Looks like you have a lovely home too. Thanks for 'inviting us in.'

  9. First of all, you have a very beautiful home!
I am so jealous on your fall runner. I really want to not only get table runners made for each season and such, but also wall hangings. Forcing myself to get busy with it is my problem. Always so many other projects going on.
