Teri's Quilt

This was a small quilt.  I did a swirly pattern all over it.  It shows up quite well on this picture.

The Zoo Keeps Growing

I make the animals and they get given away and so I keep making more.  That seems to be the bulk of my evenings these days.
This is a little puppy.  He doesn't look very happy.  But a child did pick him for a prize.

He even has a nice  tail.

This kitty has big green eyes.

And a cute little bow in her hair.

And this penguin is ready for winter.

These were all free patterns.  You can go to my Ravelry links and from there find the pattern.

Arrow Quilt- A New Beginning

I'm on my way to another baby quilt. Baby quilts are small and therefore they are rather easy to do.  It doesn't take a long time to get them finished.  This one is arrows.
I'm not a natural paper piecer, but this one seemed like it would work well doing that, so here goes.
I made my pattern on newsprint.

Here is one half of an arrow strip sewn together.

The backside.  I could have cut my fabric a little larger.  When cutting I was thinking more like normal sewing rather than the fact that I could cut with a little extra room especially as it is hard to get things to line up perfectly.

This is one arrow finished.  There will be 3 more to put together.  That's not too hard, is it?

Hot Air Balloons Completed

Here is the completed baby quilt.

I used yarn for the ropes.

I also decided to add a dog on the grass. It needed some interest.  So he is pulling the name along as he runs.

I know the babies always like the quilts I give them. Jeremiah will like looking at these balloons.

Hot Air Balloons

Last month I started this new baby quilt.  I then took the top as it was to the embroiderer's to get a name put on it.  I received it back and am going to work on it now.
I started by quilting the whole background first.  Clouds in the sky...

And wavy lines in the grass.

I then cut batting for the balloons that I had already put together.  I want the balloons to stand out on the quilt.

I then sewed the batting to the balloons, sewing down the lines on the balloons.

Now I am zigzagging the balloons to the quilt along with the baskets.

You should get to see it soon completely finished.

Marilyn's Quilt

This was a vintage top that Marilyn had and asked me to quilt for her.  It is very sweet.

I did swirly flowers and leaves all over.

Go Seahawks!

I am a Seahawks fan.  Not a football fan necessarily, but a Seahawks fan.  Last winter I knitted hats for my sons

This year I did more of a feminine one.  I actually saw one for sale and liked the style.  I don't want to buy other knitted things that I can make, so I searched online to find something similar and put several things together to get the hat I wanted.

I like how the buttons add to the look.

I think this young girl likes her hat.

Knitted Baby Blanket

Years and years ago I used to crochet and knit afghans.  My mom knitted afghans all the time and that's probably where I got that from.  My first one I knitted in high school.  I still have it. Now I'm a quilter and I knit toys and sweaters, not blankets.
But I felt an urge to do a blanket so I made this baby blanket.  I don't think I'm ready to do a large one yet.

I really liked the look of this and I had the yarn on hand.

You work on this diagonally so each row gets longer on the first half and then shorter on the second half.  I made it larger than the pattern, because I wanted to use all my yarn.  When I had 2 skeins used up, I started doing the shorter rows.  It worked great.  I only have a bit left over.

Here is my Ravelry link and from there you can get the free pattern.
