Dear Jane Continues

I have completed blocks 4,5,6 from rows A,B,and C.   Here they are.

Most of them did take some time.  I am not concerned about getting things super on point.  It is just a project for me and to have fun with.

Here it is now connected to the first set of blocks.
I am using the tutorials found at thatquilt.blogspot.com.  They are a great help.
I am trying to do 2 blocks a week.  How many years will that take me to complete the whole quilt?
I haven't figured that out yet.

Ripe Wheat Doily

I went on a vacation last month and decided to take thread to crochet a doily.  This pattern is from an old magazine that I own, but it is also free online.  I really like it.

I forgot how much fun it is to crochet doilies.  You get into a swing wrapping yarn around your hook for those double treble stitches.  I like that this pattern was something different than pineapples, although I do like pineapples.  I thnk those picots are the toughest things to do.

You can get the pattern by first going to my Ravelry link.

Quiet Book Pages

I've done 2 more pages for my quiet books over the past couple of weeks.  I'm trying to do one a week.  So far, it's working well.  I probably have over half of the finished.

This is a zipper rainbow.  Small children love doing zippers.

And boys like cars and trucks.  This truck looks like Asher's daddy's truck.

Time for Dessert

I've been crocheting food for prizes.  These desserts have eyes and a mouth on them.  Does that make them seem more friendly.  At least no one will really eat them.

A double dipper ice cream cone.
I took several patterns I found online and made my own version.

And some cute little cupcakes.

There's all kinds of things you can do with these.

This is a very good free pattern.

Baby Hats

I've been wanting to stock up on baby hats.  I'd done well with girls, but for boys it was rather a search to come up with cute ideas.  Here is what I've done.
This hat is one I made for Asher.  He keeps growing and always needs a new hat.
I wanted it to go gradually from gray to the blue variegated but it's not contrasty enough and doesn't show up that well.  I don't think Asher cares anyways.

I did do a couple more girly hats.  This one is a pattern I've done many times before and really like.

This is from a new set of patterns.  I found out that the first cap I did was really long and didn't fit the baby well.  This one looks better but we'll have to give it a try.

Now for the baby boy hats.  I thought these turned out pretty cute.

Fruity Time

Some of the girls that my daughter  teaches like the idea of fruit with faces for prizes.
So I crocheted up a few.  Here they are.

There are   Ravelry links for all of these.  They are free patterns with the faces added on by me.

Soon you will see my ice cream and cupcakes, so come back for more.

Let's Go Hawaiian

I love making Hawaiian quilts.  Here are two I have going.
This first one is a king size quilt.  I saw an idea I liked and made my own pattern.  I wanted it to be more subtle than bright.

I'm working from the center out.  The center is the hardest as there is a lot more fabric to deal with.

I just safety pinned the whole quilt loosely and then pin it heavily where I am appliqueing.
This is my weekend project so it may take a while to get done.

This is my newest project I'm just getting underway. It is 6 small squares that each have their own design and then will be sewed together and a border added.  Half the backgrounds are white and the other half are a batik.

It will be interesting to see how this looks as it comes together.

The blue and gold are still the paper pattern pinned to the fabric.  This is my travelling project as it is easy to pack and do while away.

I will get going on it soon.
