My New LIttle Rug
We redid our family room and went real light. A light grey rug and also a light grey loveseat.
The problem showed up that the spot in front of my chair was getting dirty on this lovely wool rug. I don't wear shoes, but feet can get dirty also in a house. And we also have lots of traffic.
So I decided to crochet a rug that I could throw into the washing machine to put down for my feet.
Yes, it has holes but my feet don't go through the holes. It is also really soft. The granddaughters like to play with it.
It is a free pattern and with the bulky yarn that I used, it didn't take much time to crochet. It just takes some finger muscles with the S hook I used and the heavy yarn.

Sweet Little Baby Girl Layette
I may have another granddaughter. You never know. So I am preparing. This is a vintage looking layette that I just had to make. It is a newborn size and I know it won't last long. The baby better not be 9 lbs.
I used a soft washable merino on this outfit. It looks just like the picture.
The eyelet pattern is unusual and easy to do.
The baby booties are very sweet.

A New Little Baby Blanket
My daughter -in-law sent me a picture of a blanket she saw in a store that she really liked. So I copied it for her.
I went to Joann's and found a nice, soft bulky yarn. Then I looked at the picture ant counted how many stitches were in the cable. I made a little practice swatch to see how many cables I would need to make a blanket the width I wanted
When I actually did the real thing, the blanket compressed with the cables so it was narrower than I prefer. But it will work.
This is one blanket that I think I'll make again. I really like it.
My Ravelry link. I have put on it basically how I created the blanket.

A New Knitting Bag
This knitting bag isn't for me, but for someone else who wants to knit. Or maybe she'll just stick to crocheting and use the bag for that. It is one of Geta's patterns that I use quite a bit. I really like it, the roominess and the pockets.
Thanks to i-phones, I can go to the store and text back pictures of fabrics to see if Beth liked the fabrics I found for her in the colors she wanted. That makes it so easy and assures me of getting what she likes.
Here is a shot of the inside of the bag. It has 3 outside pocket (a zippered one on the back) and 2 big pockets inside.
I used a metal measuring tape on the top edges that causes the bag to shut nicely. That way you don't need a snap to close it.
I know I'll be making another one soon for me as my old one is getting worn out
