This is the start of a quilt I'm making for my granddaughter Juliet. I bought the border fabric first and am constructing the quilt around it.
I drew a rough drawing. I found many pictures of baskets on the internet and took my ideas from them.
The basket has lace behind it. I wanted to give it a bit of substance rather than be the background.
Trying out flowers. It will be a lot of roses with some others. I think the blue might be too bright. I think I'll put batting behind the roses to make them stand out.. I'm using needleturn and freezer paper on these flowers.

My basket will have a bow. This is all experimentation. We'll have to see how it comes out.
Beautiful!! Can't wait to see more. A basket full of flowers and a flower boarder is such a lovely combination. The lace element in the basket is a brilliant design choice!
