Joyce's Quilts

Joyce sewed up three quilts for her daughters.  They are memory quilts.  She had me quilt and bind them.  The squares have writing of people and memories on them.

I'm sure they are something that will be cherished by her daughters.

Bag it This Spring

I've been using Geta's pattern again for Belle and Amelie..I think my thing is putting 2 fabrics together and seeing the look of them.
This bag is Belle.

Like the yellow check with the grey and yellow print.   They look so well together.

I did the closure different than Geta's pattern.  I used a button.

And I love all the pockets.  There are 5 of them.

This bag is Amelie.

Again the combination of the 2 different fabrics.

Eloise's New Smocked Dress

This is one I'm very happy with.  I started this dress in April. Of the few smocking projects I've done, this is by far the best.  Improvement should come with practice and so I will keep practicing. It is very enjoyable to do. A nice sit down project.

The pattern for the dress is Kimberly's Sundress from Classic Smocking by Cheryl Lohmann.

The Smocking Pattern was a variation I did from a free pattern called Symphony of Roses.

We let her walk in her mother's flower garden.

If you start singing a song, she starts twirling and dancing.  It always works.

Marianne's Quilt

This is one I wouldn't mind making for myself.  I'm liking black and white more than ever and the touch of the other bright colors really adds to it.

I outlined the flowers and did doodles all over.  I made a flower in the centers of the flower ring.

Sandy's Quilt

Did stippling on this one.  I think she's starting to get her Christmas presents done.

Stand-up IPhone/Ipod covers

This is something I pinned on pinterest that intriqued me.  I use my Ipad for recipes and tutorials, leaning it against something so I can see it. I was seeing what a handy idea this was also for a phone.

This is a free tutorial from Made by Marzipan.  She also has many other tutorials that look very good.  She writes out the instructions and has a video also.

It's the kind of project to use those small scraps on.  And I have lots of those.  This blue fabric was a dress I made for one of my twin daughters when they were very young.

On this second case I made some adjustments.  I put elastic on.  It was hard to get the Iphone into all 4 corners in the first one.

I think I would make the bottom corners still a little more roomier.

I put buttons and a buttonhole on instead of snaps.  I thought it would look better.  I does take a little maneuvering to get it buttoned.

Quilt Festival - Heart's Desire

It's Quilt Festival time again at Amy's Creative Side.  I always love it when she does this.  It gives me a special chance to show off one of my quilts and I get to see so many beautiful quilts that I wouldn't run across naturally in my blogging.
I'm entering the quilt I did with Esther's Mystery Block of the Month last year.  It did take me most of a year to complete.  This was the first time I worked online with a group and my first mystery quilt.  I did not know what I was getting into.  But I loved it!

You can see more pictures at this post of the finished quilt.

Sandra's Quilt

This is a small but elegant brocade quilt.  I love the fabrics she used in this one.

I did loops all over this one.

Eloise is helping bake (or do I mean eat?) cookies.

2 More Applique Blocks

Here are 2 more blocks for my quild.  I could probably get a whole quilt out of these fabrics since I'm doing applique.

These blocks are patterns that I'm using from a book called Faux Applique by Helen Stubbings.  Although my applique is not faux.  I do like the patterns in the book.  The background on both squares are the same fabric.  I just used 2 different cameras.  You can see the difference.  The top is my Nikon with a flash. The bottom is my Iphone without a flash.  It is also fuzzier.  I like the lighting, but not the blur.

Some flowers just off my porch.  They are a spirea.  I love how the flowers are petit  and beautiful.
